September events PLUS a massage ? The Full Moxie:: Celebrity ...
For the past several weeks The Full Moxie has been hosting an amazing event, the brainchild of our dear old Nat. Ever the lover for all things fitness and heath related, Natali devised a Biggest-Loser style program, called the ?Muffin Top Meltdown,?in which several teams of women work toward a healthier lifestyle and weight loss and, naturally, prizes.
Yet, TFM?s interest in a healthier you doesn?t stop there. Taking care of the wrapper you sit in (a.k.a. your?body) is essential for anyone who plans on hanging around on this planet well into the future.
FIRST UP:?Body Health & Wellness Massage Therapy is a fan of The Full Moxie and our readership (THAT?S ALL OF US, YOU GUYS!). They?re offering all TFM readers one of two choices: a $15 discount on a one-hour therapeutic massage, or $10-off an hour and a half Swedish massage. Seriously, you?d get literally HOURS of relaxation, and save between $10 and $15 by mentioning the code: MOXIE. To schedule, call Body Health & Wellness Massage Therapy at (559) 435-1747.

SECOND:In keeping with our love of a fitter you, here?s a list of upcoming area events you should check out this September:
1) The Virtual Labor Day Run: Talk about a neat, quirky idea. On Sept. 3, 2012, Fresno is taking part in a world-wide phenom called a ?Virtual Run.? This is not your typical organized race; rather, it?s all about you. Create your own route, and run it starting at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 3. This event gears you up for World Run Day on Nov. 11. Visit active.com for details on this Labor Day event.
2) Wascally Wabbit Half Marathon: If you?ve been in training for some time and are ready to step up your efforts, the Wascally Wabbit Half Marathon on Sept. 30 just might be what you?re looking for. ?What started as an informal race ending in someone?s driveway a couple years ago has grown to an official event. Even better? The event supports Kids Kasa Foster Care, ?a local foster care agency that treats at-risk youth, to not only put together an amazing race, but to help foster children go to college.? Entry fee: $55. ?Half marathon not your style? Try out the 2-mile Fun Run & Walk. ?Entry fee: $25. Visit thewascally.com for registration details.
3) Wine Vine Run: Everybody knows TFM?s ardent love of wine, so this event is clearly one we adore. The Wine Vine Run Half Marathon & 5kgives burgeoning athletes a choice of distances to run while enjoying a trek through the Paso Robles wine country. On?Sunday, Sept. 16 at 7:00 a.m., runners, joggers and lopers can enjoy a solo effort or team jaunt through some of the most beautiful country in California. Entry fees: $70 for the half marathon; $30 for the 5k.
4) Shaver Lake Triathlon: For those who are triathletic, be sure to register for the beloved Shaver Lake Triathon. Held annually up at Camp Edison at Shaver Lake, athletes can choose between a sprint distance (400 yard swim, 12 mi. bike and 3.1 mi. run) or an Olympic distance (800 yard swim, 25 mi. bike and 6.2 mi. run) for this event. Event fees: $75 sprint; $85 Olympic.
